The Museum of New Zealand, Te Papa Tongarewa, is located in the heart of Wellington, right on the waterfront. This landmark building is rich in symbolism and engineering feats – Te Papa is considered one of the safest buildings to be in during an earthquake! – was opened in 1998 and has been home to the EMPA New Zealand conference for the past four years.
